Level 3 Fashion Business & Retail

Extended Diploma

Our second-year Fashion Business and Retail students have each developed an individual Final Major Project, reflecting their unique interests, creativity, and the skills they have built over the past two years. From streetwear to swimwear, projects explore a diverse range of fashion sectors, with some students launching their own original brands while others have reimagined and repositioned established ones. Their work showcases a broad spectrum of outcomes, including garment design, range planning, styled photoshoots, magazine and lookbook production, and the development of brand identity and ethos. Sustainability and in-depth research underpin the projects, highlighting both the innovation and professional readiness of this talented group of students.

My Final Major Project explores a mixture of sustainability and luxury to create an eco-friendly, quiet luxury brand to compete in the industry. Sustainability functioned as a crucial focus; driven by my passion and the level of impact it has within the fashion industry. Through critical market research, I discovered existing brands in similar market levels and competitive areas to highlight my opportunities – such as my unique selling point (USP). By combining research and sewing, I aimed to advocate shopping for luxury in a more sustainable way and raising awareness that the two subjects can align.

Specialism - Marketing & brand creation

My Final Major Project explores the creation of Soléa, a luxury resort wear brand inspired by travel, escapism, and naturally bold confidence. Alongside developing my brand's identity, campaign, and editorial look-book, I created a sustainable creative range plan that reflects my contemporary consumer values and responsible fashion practices. Combining photography, digital design, and creative direction, I developed a cohesive visual narrative that communicates a lifestyle for my consumer rather than simply promoting products. Influenced by luxury brands such as Pucci and Zimmermann, I focused on storytelling, strong imagery, and aspirational branding. Through Soléa, I demonstrate how fashion branding can connect design, sustainability, and visual communication to create an engaging and authentic luxury experience for my target audience.

My final major project explores sustainability within streetwear fashion, focusing on the importance of longevity and creating garments that are designed to last beyond seasonal trends. Inspired by contemporary streetwear brands and the growing demand for more responsible fashion, i developed a brand that prioritises durable materials and timeless design. Through experimentation with embroidery, branding, photography, and magazine design, I created a cohesive visual identity that reflects my brands values. These outcomes were designed to connect with my target audience while effectively marketing the brand, encouraging viewers to consider investing in long lasting clothing and the positive impact this can have on reducing fashion waste.

Specialism - Marketing & brand creation

My Final Major Project explores the history of vintage skate culture through a contemporary streetwear brand influenced by Y2K fashion and classic skate aesthetics. I was drawn to this theme because of its influence on youth culture and its emphasis on individuality and self-expression. I was inspired by today's streetwear culture and the way brands build awareness and connect with their audiences, including Cold Culture and Jaded London. I used drawing, styling, and photography to develop and communicate my ideas. Throughout the project, I created a creative range plan, digital logo, and PR pack that helped establish my brand's identity. My final outcome aims to celebrate creativity, confidence, and the enduring impact of streetwear culture.

Saoirse Lynch-Brown

Specialism - Marketing

My final major project explored social media and marketing strategies through using an existing brand. The rise of social media in branding, and how this has changed the dynamics of a brands marketing is what I really wanted to explore and play with throughout this project. I did this by using my own photography and drawing skills for each outcome. My final outcomes included a PR package, social media mockups, a brand trip, and a fashion show. These all help contribute to the elevation of an online mid-range priced brand.

My Final Major Project explores the transition between childhood and adulthood through the creation of my clothing brand, Inbetween, aimed at 18–25-year-olds navigating identity, expectations, and personal growth. Inspired by street culture and graffiti art, particularly the work of Futura 200, I developed a graffiti-themed collection supported by a full marketing strategy, including a PR package, a social media campaign, a pop-up store, a launch event, a magazine, and garment designs. Through photography and digital illustration, I aimed to create a brand with a strong identity and meaningful message that encourages self-expression and connection during this stage of life.

My Final Major Project explores the relationship between sustainability and streetwear fashion, focusing on how creative campaigns can encourage more environmentally conscious behaviours amongst a younger Generation Inspired by streetwear branding and contemporary marketing, I used photography and digital editing to create strong visual outcomes that communicate themes of preservation and sustainability. Through developing a magazine, PR package, social media content, and marketing strategies, I aimed to create a campaign that felt both engaging and relevant, encouraging audiences to reflect on the impact of their fashion choices.

Evie Rice

Specialism - Campaign & events planning

For my final major project, I explored autism through a fashion campaign, focusing on how it is invisible, has no single look and how easily people can mask their traits. This topic matters to me because these experiences are often overlooked, especially in girls. For my campaign, I made a mask to physically demonstrate how easy it is to hide behind a mask. I want my work to show that autism has no ‘look’ and to encourage people to look beyond appearances and stereotypes.

My Final Major Project explores self-expression through rave and festival fashion. Inspired by the energy, freedom, and sense of community within rave culture, I designed and created a garment that reflects individuality and creativity. Through research into current trends, rave photography, and festival style, I experimented with different materials, colours, and construction techniques to develop my final outcome. My aim was to create a piece that captures the confidence and identity that fashion can communicate within modern rave culture.

Melissa Tovey

Specialism - Business startup

My final major project explores how sustainability can be part of fashion business in everyday life. I started by looking at ways to reuse unwanted clothes, like upcycling and making new items. This led to my idea of creating a scrunchie subscription box using recycled materials. I made test pieces before designing themed scrunchies. I also created a website, business cards, and social media to promote my idea. For my final exhibition, I am presenting my subscription box, scrunchies, and branding to show a simple and creative way to make fashion more sustainable.

My project explores a relaunch of the brand PINK tied with a theme of 2016. It’s been a large social media trend that 2016 is the new 2026 and I have taken this as a starting point for my project. I was thinking of brands that linked to 2016 and I decided on PINK, focusing on reconnecting the brand with a modern audience with the 2016 aesthetic creating a social media campaign. I was interested in this area because of the brands strong identity and the challenge of making the brand feel relevant within today’s competitive market. I have a strong interest in the social media side of fashion and my work was influenced by fashion campaigns, social media marketing and influencer culture and the existing PINK brand aesthetic. Through research, campaign planning and content creation I developed a range of promotional materials and my final outcomes aim to communicate confidence, inclusivity and brand relevance.

Specialism - Marketing, journalism & brand creation

My final major project focuses on organic fashion, allowing a wide range of customers to invest in high-quality and timeless pieces. Alongside my collection, I provide an informative blog offering insights into sustainable practices, eco-friendly materials, and the importance of ethical fashion choices. Knowing organic clothes are priced at a high cost, through Emi’s Organics I offer affordable pieces that open the doors to a broad audience. I experimented with a variety of silhouettes, patterns, and textures, creating a diverse collection. Combining a chic aesthetic with the blog, I aim to educate and inspire a new generation of conscious consumers.
